Ham and Cheese Milk

So I think I'm gonna start doing vlogs. Here's the one we did yesterday. Let me know what you think.

I Think My Wife Is Part Kryptonian

Or Amazonian. Or whatever else makes someone a superhero. The mere fact that Emma had given birth with no medication really just makes someone stand in awe.

Anyway, I know this is very very very late, and I apologize. Things have just been very busy, and I've been doing my best to keep people updated on Gabe, but that has been proven more and more tiring. So I've started this blog.

If you want the background on what has happened up to this point, click here. It's much easier, anyway.

On August 10, 2011, my son, Jonathan Gabriel Wirig was born at 5 pounds 1 ounce (and some change) and 17.5 inches (sorry for all those I told 21 inches. I wasn't really paying attention and I just remembered someone mentioning 21 somewhere. It turns out it was for the percentile he was in).

Almost immediately, they whisked him away to Primary to start surgery on his gastroschisis. They were even able to make him a fake bellybutton.

They have the gauze off, but I didn't get a picture. As of right now, they have him on morphine for the pain and a ventilator to help him breathe. Emma has been dying to hold him, and since they took out the IVs in his wrist and head, it was a step closer. We need to wait until they take him completely off the ventilator before we can hold him, but they think it may end up being to tomorrow.

Again, I'm sorry for the late post. I'll have more pictures as time goes on, and especially when Emma gets to hold him.
